Description

SAKON SPITBOARD

Versatile splitboard with a deep powder core: optimal performance on all types of terrain and snow, especially in deep snow.
Its camber profile between the bindings offers excellent response and stability in all conditions, and its 4 points of edge contact at the bindings guarantee solid grip on hardpack or changing conditions. The flat nose combined with a generous rocker ensures excellent floatation in powder. At the tail, the flat section is eliminated for a seamless transition from camber to rocker, facilitating ascents in touring or skating mode.
In addition, its 8.4m turning radius makes it an agile and responsive board, ideal for navigating through trees or on technical terrain.
With its medium-high flex (7/10), it offers a perfect balance between reactivity and control, making it suitable for both developing riders and advanced riders looking for a versatile board with good performance and quick response.
For the sole, we used the Isosport 7505, a high-performance sole, which translates into a significant improvement in gliding speed. (Speed = buoyancy).
The graphic design is dominated by the white color due to the albedo effect, through which the surface reflects ultraviolet radiation, reducing heat absorption. This property minimizes the melting and accumulation of snow on our board, thus reducing its weight and improving the splitboard’s performance.
In short: An all-terrain splitboard, with a profile specially designed to fully enjoy powder snow without sacrificing performance in other, tougher or more technical conditions.

But why did we transfer the straight edge to the valley half board?

As with the rest of our splitboards, the Sakon splitboard allows us to avoid inverting the two halves of our splitboard in ascent mode. But why is that? The valley waist is the hardest to grip because it’s farther from our balance point. Therefore, we move the curved edge to the mountain waist (closer to our balance point) and move the straight waist to the valley waist to compensate for the fact that it’s farther from our balance point.

In addition, we must remember that this improved grip of the valley waist makes the “María turn,” where the support on the valley waist is complete, safer and more efficient. Very important: It is recommended to seal without inverting the two halves once we have experience sealing and do it with both waists parallel more instinctively. It is not advisable to not invert them when riding a skier’s line, as the narrower side of the board could more easily cause the two halves to collide.

Board Construction:

  • Corrund Polyamide 8210 Top Layer
